The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah; TBR; My Current Read; and What’s Next

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to delve into a good book. End of the school year is always so busy and I’m usually too tired to even think of cracking open a book. Summer tends to be a little lazier, and in an effort to reduce my screen time AND keep up with my Goodreads Reading Challenge, I browsed my bookcase and found one I’ve had since Christmas and finally made time to read.

Mini Review:

The Great Alone was a beautiful story of love, loss, family and finding your own path. Sometimes we choose the path that makes others happy or in an attempt to keep them safe all the while we dismiss what is truly best for us. Alaska is a landscape that takes no prisoners and has no mercy. You either are a survivor or the land will overtake you in a matter of minutes. Add in a dangerous family dynamic and the longings of a girl who just wants a life of her own, this story is gripping and heartbreaking.

My birthday was last week, and every year my uncle gets me a gift card to Barnes and Noble. They are usually spent by that evening. This particular card bought me three new stories to add to my pile.

My next read is The Glovemaker by Ann Weisgarber (I’m a sucker for good historical fiction).

What’s Next

I usually don’t read a lot of memoirs, but this one caught my eye and I’m overly excited to get it order. Unfortunately, our public library doesn’t carry it, or I’d be hunting it down! I’ve seen some of Tiffany Jenkins stuff on Facebook but never really delved too deep into her videos. Im thinking that will change.

Sorry for the long post, I wanted to cram it all into one so I can get to reading!
