Read all the Books!-What’s New in 2018

Readallthebooks

I have enjoyed the opportunity to read some new books from some great publishers, and I will continue to do so over the course of this year. But, I’d like to do a few things different. I have a “to read” list a mile long and a bookcase full of books I have yet to crack open. Plus, my daughter has found herself a series of books she is in love with, so I am reading those with her.

This year, this blog will consist of book reviews (well of course) but also the look at books that will become movies this year and what my middle school children are reading. My almost 13 year old son is in a Book Club at school and he is reading A Diary of A Wimpy Kid-The Long Haul and my 12 year old daughter just finished A Wrinkle in Time.

I will be reading A Wrinkle in Time so I can understand her complete fascination with the story and so we can go and see the movie when it comes out. I am not above reading young adult stories if my kids are completely taken by a story. Just getting them to read is chore itself!

So, what book adaptations have you watched?

Did they measure up or did you leave disappointed?

Are there some books you have read that became movies and you absolutely refuse to watch them? I am turned off by some just because of who was cast in the lead……I am looking at you Gone Girl.

What books have you read that you think should become movies?

I’d love to hear your feedback. Even if my “to read” list is a mile long, I am not done adding to it!
