Write Through the Pain

I’ve always heard to “write what you know” and the story will flow easier. Some of our best stories are rooted in truth. Now there are certainly exceptions to this. There are many, many, many stories that are meant to spark our imaginations, transport us to other worlds, and test our perceptions. There are some that hit so close to home we wonder if someone has been watching us from a distance. Stories draw us in, help us escape reality, or help us to see we are not alone in our own situation.

Currently I have a few different stories floating around and may have a way to combine the two. It’s making the time to actually write!

What’s your favorite type of story? When you browse the bookstore what genre to reach for first? And is that the genre you would write into?
